Monadnock State Park Custom Search   The 75 acres of skiable terrain at Crotched Mountain is esteemed by skiers from far and wide. Crotched Mountain has 22% black and red ski trails and 78% intermediate or beginner ski trails. The 23 ski trails at Crotched Mountain are all pleasant; the elevation difference is 875 feet at this ski area. Crotched Mountain gets 9 feet of wonderful snow per year and has 5 different ski lifts to carry all the skiers up the slope. The 5-mile-in-length Jaffrey to Peterborough segment is a grade II segment of whitewater on Contoocook River. This segment of Contoocook     River is suited for whitewater boaters who haven't been whitewater kayaking or rafting for so long. A type III-IV, 2.3-mile-long whitewater segment can be found on close by Ashuelot River - South Branch, the Troy to Webb portion. The Troy to Webb portion of Ashuelot River - South Branch is recommended for paddlers of medium familiarity.
