Monson Lake State Park Custom Search   Monson Lake Park used to be a beautiful park. In recent years the MN DNR has let the park go. Campsites are poorly maintained. Underbrush is overtaking many areas. Noxious weeds like Canadian Thistle, Cockleburrs, poison ivy are being allowed to grow and now have taken over large areas. Restrooms are poorly maintained. Campground roads are becoming narrower with undergrowth. Garbage is not picked up often enough and the only 2 dumpsters are always overflowing with garbage thrown on top of them or on the ground. Which in turn attracts wild animals to it.     Park signs are in poor condition. This is by no means the park it used to be. It is sad.
