The close by ski hill Spirit Mountain gets 8 feet of great snow per winter. Spirit Mountain has 9 great ski lifts that serve its 22 ski slopes; the drop is 700 feet. Oldenburg Point is an interesting     place to stop at while at Jay Cooke State Park. Dry warm beds await you at Americinn - Cloquet, Mn, and a round of golf at nearby Pine Hill Golf Course is a good way to kill some time. There's some flowing water close by, Hay Creek is a stream you can take a look at while you're here. Knife Falls Dam is a location that is in close proximity to Jay Cooke State Park, and why not take a little tour to Gill Creek while you're here.
