 I have lived in the area for years, I would suggest Grafton Notch to any one who wants a day away from it all. Have a picnic, take a hike, fishing, swimming there's everything you would want out of nature... I would however suggest filling up on gas before leaving and don't worry about cell phone's going off you're not likely to get service.. but you can enjoy this area any time of the year, the views in the winter are breath taking :) Says Mandie

There's also a new campground called Grafton Notch Campground - Only 1 mile south of the State Park.

Easy ski trails make up 67% of the ski trails at Sunday River; everybody likes this close by ski resort with its 660 acres of ski terrain. 33% of the ski trails at Sunday River are challenging, so the skilled skiers can have a magnificent
time too. The close by ski resort Sunday River obtains 13 feet of good snow every season. Sunday River has 18 lifts that serve its 128 ski trails; the drop is 2,340 feet.
