Hurd State Park Custom Search   Powder Ridge is a skiers delight. It has 25% challenging ski slopes on its 88 acres of skiable territory, and 75% green and blue ski slopes for novices. The 5 great ski lifts at the close by ski area Powder Ridge bring skiers up to the tops of the 19 ski slopes at Powder Ridge. This close by ski area has 5 feet of snow every season and has a drop from top to bottom of 500 feet. That right there is a heap already, but it goes on; Hurd State Park has it all. Hurd State Park is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Little City Campground is a nice local     campground. You're almost certainly into lakes, Pocotopaug Lake is one of those close by. On a glorious day you can visit Bear Swamp, a swamp in the neighborhood of Hurd State Park. If you're here at Hurd State Park, do take a trip to Haddam Neck, and Passport Inn and Suites Middletown is a great spot to get some rest.
