Francis Lake

Hiked this is a day hike in the 1980s, so I have no idea if this is doable anymore. The trail (?) disappears about half a mile from parking on the Miller Road. It's a total uphill muddy and over logs scramble to the lake, along with lots of nasty plants along the way. Total bushwhack. Bring your machete. That being said, lake is beautiful, super clear, and there are lots of hungry rainbows and lots of nasty flying critters. Good luck. Says Winston

On
Miller River - West Fo close by you discover the 2.5-mile-long Upstream of Miller Road Bridge sector of category V+ whitewater. Only those experienced in kayak paddling should try to run this segment of Miller River - West Fo.
