Rocky Pond

Hit the slopes at Killington nearby, also Center Rutland Dam is worth taking a look at since you're here.
Nearby there is a magnificent 3-mile-from-start-to-finish grade II-III whitewater segment, the Clarendon Springs to West Rutland sector of Clarendon River. Paddlers on this segment of Clarendon River should have a little practice in whitewater rafting and kayaking. If you are going whitewater rafting and kayaking, you should always check the latest
conditions. This lake is so wonderful. A splendid nearby hotel is Rodeway Inn Rutland, and in the event that you have a boat, Waterhouse Campground and Marina is a good marina.

Easy going trail from Mt Tabor to Rocky Pond, a 4 mile round trip, 1 1/2 to 2 hour hike. The hike is well worth seeing this breath taking pond. Very secluded & peaceful with tent sites and one or two shelters. Over night stays are 5.00 per person, per night. If you love 'roughing it' camping, this is a great place to go. I am enclosing a picture i took on June 19th 2007. - Loretta St.Marie
