Custom Search     Little Snooks Lake     Rebecca Snooks and her son Charles R. Snooks ran the ferry across the Savannah River during the Civil War. She owned land in Effingham County, Ga. and also in Jasper County, S.C. General Sherman's army came through Effingham County, Ga twice. The 1st time in December 1864 and again in January 1865 and on the second time went to sister's ferry where she operated a ferry. There is a Little Snooks Lake and Big Snooks Lake in Jasper County, S.C. Says Norman     V. Turner This lake is so wonderful.
