Near Indian Lake is a tremendous 3.97-mile-in-length run of whitewater on Stonycreek River, a class III-IV, this is the Shanksville to Mostoller section. On the whole this run of Stonycreek River is an enjoyable place for whitewater rafting and kayaking. A glorious 1.1-mile-from-start-to-finish whitewater     sweep on Dark Shade Creek is nearby. This, the Rockingham to Clear Shade portion, is a class IV-V.
