| | Just can't get enough of Lake Lenore. The stunning marina of Detroit Lake Marina is a great place to leave dry land behind. The summit of Big Slide Mountain can be seen from Lake Lenore, and if you came to camp Kingfisher Camp is a great place to do that. A class IV, 5.5-mile-in-length whitewater sweep can be found on close by Collawash River, the Mile 5.5 bridge to Two Rivers Picnic Area segment. This sweep of Collawash River is not a location for novices |
to come whitewater kayaking or rafting single-handedly. The nearby grade III-IV(V), 5-mile-in-length Elk Lake Creek to river mile 5.5 portion of whitewater on Collawash River is plenty of fun.

Leaving Lake Lenore and on trail to Big Slide Lake June 1994. If your planning a trip early in the season make sure to call Ripple Brook Ranger Station and check on the trail conditions as the snow pack changes from year to year. This picture was taken June 26th of 1994, so you can see some years you may encounter snow on the shaded parts of the trails well into June.
