Lake Estabrook

Lake Estabrook was constructed and always owned by the Ohio Council of Boy Scouts of America. The stream is actually the headwaters of Ohio's Grand River. The BSA abandoned the camp several years ago and the Geauga Park District acquired the property in 2009. The camp is being made into a park, but the dam has been permanently breached and will not be restored. At this point the river is a wadable stream, however a private dam and lake is not far downstream. Below
that dam the Grand River is still a smaller stream for several miles. Says Tom Newcomb

What's left of the lake is on Rt 700, NE of Parkman, OH at Latitude: 412256N and Longitude: 0810431W. Around yr 2000, the dam at the West
end of the lake broke and the lake drained. All that's left is the creek that was originally dammed to make the lake, along with the broken dam. Camp Chicagami is a Boy Scout camp located on the shore of where the lake used to be. It was about a 30 acre lake, and it's a shame that it's gone now. Says Dave Reyes
