Custom Search     Wilson Lake     I grew up a couple of miles from the lake, and as a child used to go there all the time. They had dances in the pavilion. In high school I remember one of my friends' death by a car during a fight there. Other than that tragedy there were many good times there. I remember Ruby and the lipstick smeared all over her lips , but a nice woman. Says Paul My grandparents had a canvas roof cabin on the lake from mid 40's to 1956. It was a wonderful place to go.     No running water (pumps), & outhouses. I wish also I could go back again. County has preserved it as a park which is good & I still go there. The lake is beautiful. Great snow cones. Wilsons lived in an old unpainted house with no utilities. Says Sandy Joanne: My family had two cabins at the lake. We were there from the early 60's till 78. My fondest memories were staying there. I have many stories I can tell. Wish I had some pictures but unfortunatly I didn't own a camera back then. Katie Ferguson Says Katie I too have amazing memories of Wilson's Lake as a child. Our family owned a bungalow there and we would go down for the entire summer and not return until it was time       to go back to school. Rex and Ruby ran the facilities and the store with the noisy screen door was called Wendy's. I agree that life was great there and I wish I could have it all back again. Joanne....if you monitor this site, you   should try to contact me to see if you and your family were there when we were. Feel free to email me at: joemcgough3@verizon.net It is all good, indeed! Says Joe The memories at this lake as a child, are all good ones. A time to spends hours and hours with your family with little money and to much fun for all. I remember swimming for hours (in the ice tea water--HA), boats you would ride until your feet and legs couldn't do it anymore) and the store with the screen (sqeeky) door. Life was great. There are so many good memories at this lake. It is all good Says Joanne          Map Detailed Map Marinas Marinas on or near Wilson Lake Weather Local weather forecast
