Custom Search     Oxbow Lake     Does anyone know if there is a slalom ski course on Oxbow or if there could be one put in? Moving from FLA and looking at homes on Oxbow and hoping.... Says Mimi My Mom and Dad had a summer house on Oxbow Lake. As a kid all my siblings & I enjoyed swimming and fishing throughout the year. Says John Mastrangel In the mid seventies I used to fish Oxbow Lake almost every day. One morning in July I was fishing the drop off straight out from where     the Huron exits the lake. The fishing was slow, I looked in my box and found a HUGE white spinner bait that I had never used before. I tied that spinner on a heavy rod and reel and tossed it out and let it sink down the drop off, while bringing that lure back up, the largest Pike I have ever seen came up and nailed it. This Pike was a monster, I would say about 9 inches from eye to eye and well over 50 inches long. I fought that fish all the way down to M-59 where he broke the 30lbs test line. This is true, I got several good looks at that fish. I am wondering if anyone else has encountered a fish like this in that lake? I grew up on oxbow lake and swam fished both summer and winter, then joined the navy and did not return until last year when my   brother and I went fishing for the first time in 50 years.
