Lake George

Born on Lake George, July 7, 1949. The lake served my youth well as we swam, swam, dived, fished and more. The lake is a child’s delight and in my teenage years, it served me and my friends well to ski and fish too. The winters are always interesting, if you have plenty of wood for the wood stove and fireplace. The lake would freeze in winter to about 8'' and maybe get to 12'' thick. Snowmobiles are fun on the lake. We had a ski-sail too that served us well
for a little extra thrill with the high winds. Wildlife is abundant, deer, rabbits, annoying raccoons and believe-it-or-not, a wolverine was seen. The glacial made mostly has a gravel bottom with a muck soil bottom towards the north
end of the lake. We always enjoyed the restaurants particularly Clay's and of course the Lake George Retreat.

After the Second World War, we were particularly blessed to have Lake George to remind us of what America is all about where families can enjoy one another and the beautiful water. Says Robert G. Deardorff

The lake is always warm during the summer. Its also vary clean. There are many cottages for sale that are very cute. The lake is

smaller compared to Coldwater lake. Says Parker

Lake George is a cool place to be. I catch turtles and fish!!!!!!!!! Says Jim Brown
