Lake Cathance

Lake Cathance is a beautiful 5 square mile lake.

On Cathance Stream you come upon the nearby Lake Cathance to Dennysville segment. This is a type I-V, 18-mile-from-start-to-finish section of whitewater. If by chance you don’t want to risk getting wet this section of Cathance Stream is probably not for you. The Gilman Dam to Route 86 portion is a perfect 11-mile-from-beginning-to-end category I-II bit of whitewater on Dennys River. The Gilman Dam to Route
86 portion of Dennys River is suggested for novice kayak paddlers. For your security you should always check current conditions before going paddling.
