Schweitzer has 2,500 acres to ski on; 60% of the ski slopes are intermediate or beginner which is perfect for novices; 40% of the ski slopes are advanced and expert. The 2,400 feet of drop from top to bottom at close by Schweitzer is total excitement. Schweitzer receives 25 feet of white snow every year on its 59 ski slopes that are served by its 8 ski lifts. In case you enjoy whitewater, there is the West Branch Pack River to Tavern segment, a grade I-III
whitewater run on Pack River, 21.6 miles long. This segment of Pack River is recommended for whitewater paddlers of medium experience. Unsurprisingly, whitewater rafting or kayaking is amusing but dangerous; check restrictions prior to departure.
