Sure, Five Island Lake is nearby, and after a long day outdoors Americas Best Value Inn is a great place to spend a night or two. At Rush Lake you always meet someone from Curlew. This lake is so wonderful. Not far from Rush Lake, you'll come across Clear Lake which is a beautiful lake. Why not camp at Rush Lake Wildlife Management Area while you're     here at Rush Lake; Super 8 Emmetsburg is a good site to get some rest. The yearly precipitation here at Rush Lake is about average. For the period of July this area sees the most rain, and the driest month is January.   The lake was drained several years ago by the Iowa DNR. The lake is still mostly empty.
