Idaho Springs Reservoir

You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the amusing things at Idaho Springs Reservoir. Clear Lake is a nearby lake that you could explore, and you can go for a hike on the Mount Thorodin Trail. So many entertaining things in the Front Range, just remarkable. Rogers Peak is delightful and can be spotted from Idaho Springs Reservoir, and Eldora is a very popular ski area nearby. The 5.5-mile-from-beginning-to-end Lawson to Idaho Springs sector is a class
III-IV sector of whitewater on Clear Creek. For whitewater kayaking or rafting this part of Clear Creek is an enjoyable place. You find the 1-mile-in-length Silverplume to Georgetown segment of Clear Creek nearby; this is a grade V+ whitewater segment.

We hiked Chicago Lakes Trail to the reservoir - had a picnic there and then go on up to Chicago Lakes. The fishing was looking good at the resevoir, the water was calm. Are canoes aloud on the water? - April C.
