Says Dale Graham I have lived here in Amador County for 35 years and if there's place to be in just AAAHHHH, it's Silver lake. Starting with the eastside of the lake there is this great wall of a mountain atleast 2000' straight up. To the westside of the lake is Plassie's resort with everthing that goes with green meadows     nessaled in the National Forest. There are so many things to enjoy inbetween those two that you could probiblly not finish or see all of the beauty that this lake and surrounding streams, falls, hidden lakes/ponds on the hicking trails have to offer in one season. Yes season. See the lakes elev. is about 8200'. So the time to go is June-mid Oct. There are natrial trout, browns, kokane, to fish for. (the pinkest meat I've ever seen in trout!) Silver lake and surroundings is a must visit place. It don't matter if you don't even like all that she offers. If you like outdoors and our wonderful earth, then you will have something to do at this lake.
