If you fancy the outdoors you'll fancy it here in the Central Sierra Nevada. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Lake Sabrina; Kings River Trail is a great local trail. Days Inn Bishop is a wonderful site to get some rest, and on a wonderful winter day you may rent a snow mobile at Bishop Motosports.com. Nearby there is a magnificent 29-mile-in-distance
type V+ whitewater bit, the Dusy Branch to South Fork confluence sector of Kings River - Middle Fork. This bit of Kings River - Middle Fork is not a place where learners should come paddling.
I was about 18 months old when my parents started taking me and my brother to Lake Sabrina. We spent 2-3 weeks at Camp Sabrina every summer until I went into high school. I enjoyed the times up there until CalTrans built the highway thru the campground. About 6 years after that, the camp store, cabins and trailer court were demolished and removed, changing the entire camp geography. I read Karen Drudge' account of her days there in the 1960's and know just how she felt.
