Mott Lake

Very nice glacial lake with inlet creek making a noisy waterfall just above the lake. Used to have nice Rainbow population. A very old account of burro packing to there from Huntington Lake by a Big Creek couple in the 1920s exists. Think they called it Enchantment Lake! Says Chuck Quibell

So many enjoyable things to do at Mott Lake, so little time. If time allows, Devils Postpile National Monument is a national park worth checking out, and you can hit
the slopes at Mammoth Mountain in the vicinity. You absolutely should love the Central Sierra Nevada. Here at Mott Lake you can catch a glimpse of Mount Izaak Walton; if you need a place to stay The Mammoth Creek Inn is a fine choice.
