Auburn State Park is a good spot to stretch your legs a bit, and in case you wanna get out on the water, Skippers Cove Marina is in the neighborhood. There's a good 3-mile-long category II whitewater segment on American River - North Fork close by, the Confluence with Middle Fork to Folsom Lake segment. Do be sure of staying dry raft paddling this segment of American     River - North Fork.
