Cherry Lake

Cherry Lake has been a pefect camping place for the past ten years. Being a responsible camper, what goes in all comes out-no exceptions. It is as if I was never there. However a new rule was conjered up April 29, 2011 where no one is allowed to camp within 100 feet of the high water mark which means camping way into the woods. This is very disaapointing for the very responsible camper. Camping on the Island for the past ten years has been a pleasure and priviledge
which no longer exist due to pleasing the Hetch Hetchy San Franscisco project which owns rights to the area, taking rights away for the locals. This is a very disappointing turn of events. Shame on the politicians who sold out the
beautiful Sierra Nevada's Says John Jones

I think Cherry lake was awesome. No more bugs than any other campground, warm days, mild nights. Campsites are lush and HUGE. As for the fishing, I don't know, I don't fish. Beardsley is better for fishing Capt K, but for camping, not so much?. Says Clint

Chery lake was a bummer, lots of biting bugs lousy fishing. Long drive to nothing, bummer? But do check out lake beardsey, it's awsome. Says Capt K
