Custom Search     Speigner Lake     This lake was public the last time I was there. It's directly across from the prison, hwy 14 turns into 143 off if going away from hwy 14. have not been in that direction in 9 yrs, but it was not as deep then as it had been in the later decades. Very silty, muddy, and shallow. Don't park too close to it, you may be one of the many who keep the local towing in business. I think my brother fished it out back then, and the turtles were all that were left to catch.     Pretty interesting in a storm, and a flat bottom fishing boat that has too much weight in it. Thank god we blew to the shore right as the last wave completely took her under, and drug her the rest of the way out. That was not my last trip there though. Across the spillway from the lake there are so many blackberries its unreal, and their really fat and juicy. Says Sherri Hello, my last name is Speigner. That's so cool.
