Saint George Island Beach Custom Search   My wife and I have been living on the island since 1995. It's great fishing, bird watching, oystering, crabbing and boating that makes the island a great place to live. St. Marys college is also close along with many other historic sites. St. George Island was also where the first battle of the Recelutionary War was fought. You have to get out of the house, and Saint George Island Beach in St. Mary's County, Maryland is a good location for getting out. Maryland is an outstanding beach state. There aren’t any hotels in close proximity but if you're ready to travel a small distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up snoozing in your automobile. Outdoors recreation is plentiful; some of the cool stuff you can do are boating, fishing, golfing, and swimming, so one won't run out of cool stuff to do.
