All through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's  
with temperatures at Sandbar State Park dipping down into the 0's through winter nights.
The yearly rain here at Sandbar State Park is about average; August is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month of the year is January. Going to Sandbar State Park is a glorious idea when you must spend some time in the great outdoors. If you came to camp Malletts Bay Campground is a glorious place to do that.
Camping at Camp Skyland is always a wonderful experience; if you need a place to stay Quality Inn is a perfect choice. A glorious close by hotel is Hilton Burlington, and don't forget to take a splendid little journey to Trout Brook. Taking a little trip to close by Clay Point is a great idea, and the summit of Fox Hill can be spotted from Sandbar State Park.
Sandbar State Park is a place with many visitors from Colchester; Courtyard by Marriott Burlington Harbor is a fine place to get some rest. Sandbar State Park is pleasant enough to spend more than a day at, Apple Island Resort is a pleasant local campground, and there is a great hiking trail close by called the West Shore Trail. Near Sandbar State Park you come across the Island Farm Nature Trail which is a brilliant hiking trail, and dry warm beds await you at Burlington-Days Inn Colchester.
Lakes? Sure, Round Pond is in the vicinity, and on a nice day you can take a hike along the Southern Tip Trail. Sandbar State Park has a huge amount of natural loveliness; it's a spot that is popular with people from far and near.
