Smugglers Notch is a great spot to do that; if you came for an overnight stay Duxbury Campground is a magnificent location to camp. Camping is available at Gold Brook Campground, and if you come at the right time of year, Winooski River offers some tremendous whitewater. There's just no way anyone can get bored here at Little River State Park. Everybody close by loves skiing at Stowe, and Country Club of Vermont is a great golf course nearby. If you need a place to stay Trapp Family Lodge is a great choice, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Dalley Loop Trail. From a rain point of view Little River State Park is a relatively typical site; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain; the driest month of the year is February.
