If you came for an overnight stay Dennis Cove Campground is a great spot to camp, and you can run the rapids of Holston River. You'll meet a lot of people from Butler here, and close by you locate the Morrill Trail which is a wonderful hiking trail. A perfect location for whitewater paddling in the vicinity of Sycamore Shoals State Park is Doe River.
Going for a hike on the Pond Mountain Trail is always a delightful adventure, and getting to Sand Spring Branch from Sycamore Shoals State Park is uncomplicated. If you want to explore some
 
interesting stuff, explore Bee Cliff; unsurprisingly Boyd Spring Branch is a scenic stream that is worth taking a look at. There is so much entertaining stuff to do to suit everybody.
Get yourself into a kayak and hit Doe River - Laurel Fork; why not a little side journey to Hamilton Branch. There's whitewater on Doe River for all you adrenaline people, and if you fancy a little side spree, try Lickskillet Hollow. Why not camp at Laurel Creek Lodge since you're here at Sycamore Shoals State Park, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Sycamore Shoals State Park; Holston Mountain Trail is a pleasant local trail.
A pleasant place to camp here at Sycamore Shoals State Park is Low Gap Campground 2, and since you're here, you might as well check out Williams Hollow. Looking for some flowing water? Try Wilson Branch; Ore Bank Hollow is a delightful spot to spend some time. Sycamore Shoals State Park is a perfect spot for a journey when you have to get out of the house.
What a spot this is for outdoors folks. Lewis Branch is a glorious local stream, and while you're here why not visit Bishop Hollow. At Sycamore Shoals State Park throughout the summertime months highs are in the 80's. Summer overnight lows dip down to the 60's. Highs during the winter are usually in the 40's while Sycamore Shoals State Park nighttime low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 20's. Sycamore Shoals State Park is tremendous enough to spend more than a day at, Low Gap Campground 1 is a tremendous local campground, and Americourt Hotel Elizabethton is a wonderful place to get some rest.
