Near Oconee State Park you find the Burrells Ford Trail which is a nice hiking trail, and there are other spots here than Oconee State Park, for example Lake Cherokee. You can run the rapids of Chattooga River near Oconee State Park.

    through this area, and get your pulse rate up on the fine whitewater of Oconee Creek. The prettiness of Oconee State Park is there for your viewing comfort. If the weather is gorgeous, you acquire a good sight of Tamassee Knob from Oconee State Park; if you don't mind getting soaked,
you can always go whitewater paddling on Chattooga River - East Fork.
All the water falling down from the sky makes Oconee State Park a wet site; the month with most of the rain is March, and April is the month with the least moisture. Just can't get enough of Oconee State Park. Not far from Oconee State Park, you'll stumble on Walhalla Reservoir which is a pretty lake; you can stay the night at Yellow Branch Campground. There is brilliant outdoors recreation at Oconee State Park that you can employ.

and a quick journey to Clear Branch is absolutely a perfect idea. Going to Oconee State Park is a great idea when you must spend some time in the wilderness. From Oconee State Park you obtain a tremendous panorama of Long Mountain, and there are fine sites to look at along the Foothills Trail.
Lakes are great; Gordons Lake is a lake that's near Oconee State Park; a short journey to Hidden Falls is always worthwhile. Here at Oconee State Park you can catch a glimpse of Stumphouse Mountain, and if you came for an overnight stay Oconee Station state Historic Site is a great place to camp. Oconee State Park is a charming place where everyone has a brilliant time.
During the summertime months at Oconee State Park highs are regularly in the 70's with overnight lows in the 50's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Oconee State Park. This is a nice vicinity for folks who like lakes. Oconee State Park Lake Number One is a lake nearby, and going for a hike on the Ellicott Rock Trail is always a great adventure. But wait, there's more to do right next door to Oconee State Park. There is a tremendous hiking trail right next door to Oconee State Park called the Winding Stairs Trail, and Camp Chatuga is a tremendous local campground.
There are lots of exciting endeavors for everyone. It's a popular place to go to for the people of Walhalla. Lakes are such serene places, why not check out Lake Isaquenna close to Oconee State Park, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Chauga River.
On a beautiful day you get a panorama of Ross Mountain from Oconee State Park, and the smiling people of Walhalla like to hang out close by. Station Mountain is delightful and can be observed from Oconee State Park, and there's some flowing water nearby, Horse Bone Branch is a stream you can stop by during your stay.
