at the right time of year, Nantahala River offers some pleasant whitewater; after a long day outdoors Carolina Motel is a great spot to spend a night or two.
There's so much to do here at Nantahala National Forest that you need to camp here for a while, Pines RV Park and Cabins
is a wonderful spot for that, and Podgys Mountain is clearly visible from Nantahala National Forest. And if that's not enough there's loads more enjoyable stuff to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Cartoogechaye River; camping at Franklin RV Park
and Campground is always a fine experience. Now, you may think that's plenty but there's even more entertaining stuff to do here at Nantahala National Forest. Here at Nantahala National Forest you can make out Milksick Knob; nearby you locate the Stewart Trail which is a magnificent
hiking trail.

typically get into the 80's while overnight lows are mostly in the 60's. Through the winter the highs are typically in the 40's, and overnight lows at Nantahala National Forest during the winter frequently sink into the 20's.
