All the water falling down from the sky makes Heckscher State Park a wet site; the month of November is the wettest with most of the rain, and February meanwhile is the driest month.

Spend the day on the beach at West Beach since you're here at Heckscher State Park; if you need a place to

Visit West Brook if you're here at Heckscher State Park; you have to absolutely go to pretty Town Beach if you're here. A good close by hotel is Hampton Inn Long Island-Islandia; if you're here, you could also stop at lovely Upper
Winganhauppauge Lake. It's a popular place to go to for folks arriving from East Islip.
There are a lot of enjoyable activities to please everybody. Through the summertime at Heckscher State Park highs are generally in the 80's; the overnight is slightly colder of course, generally
in the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Heckscher State Park descend into the 20's.
But wait, there's more to do in close proximity to Heckscher State Park. East Beach is near Heckscher State Park and is a charming beach to pop by, and a visit to Nicoll Point is always a brilliant idea.
