Near Painted Rocks State Park you hit upon the Castle Rock Trail which is a great hiking trail; some of the water nearby flows, like Blue Joint Creek. Painted Rocks State Park is a wonderful location where everybody has a pleasant time. Painted Rocks State Park has pleasant outdoors recreation, so you can have a good time during your stay. If the weather is tremendous here at Painted Rocks State Park, you can go for a hike along the Old Nez Perce Indian Trail; some nearby water includes Mud Creek. So many enjoyable things to do in the Bitterroot Range, not enough time. A delightful location to camp here at Painted Rocks State Park is Alta Campground, and West Fork Dam is a wonderful site. High temperatures at Painted Rocks State Park through the summer are in the 80's with night lows in the 40's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 30's with temperatures at Painted Rocks State Park dipping down into the 10's during winter nights.
