Ponderosa State Park is pretty dried out typically; the month with most of the rain is May, and the driest month is July. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Louie Lake Trail. There's so much to do here at Ponderosa State Park that you need to camp here for a while, Lakeview Village RV Park is a great location for that.

Don't forget to check out Porcupine Point if you're here at Ponderosa State Park, and whitewater paddling is nice on Payette River - North Fork. If you don’t have a problem getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Payette River - North Fork, and since you're here you have to visit Huckleberry Bay.

State Park is right by the Crestline Trail, and Ponderosa State Park is great enough to spend more than a day at, Buck Park Cabin - Payette National Forest is a great local campground. There are a lot of fun pursuits for everybody. High temperatures at Ponderosa State Park during
the long summer days are in the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 50's. Highs all through the winter are typically in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Ponderosa State Park are in the 20's.

is always a delightful experience, and if you're into cool geologic features try Lightning Point. And that's not all you can do here in the Salmon River Mountains. Very beautiful scenery and pleasant skiing is what you get at Brundage Mountain, and Lucks Point is rather close.
If you're here at Ponderosa State Park, you could have a look at Wagon Bay Creek; hiking is a popular thing to do around Ponderosa State Park; Fall Creek Trail is a nice local trail.

Ponderosa State Park is a pretty section of wilderness that is popular with folks from far and near. And if that's not enough there's plenty more amusing things to do in the Salmon River Mountains.
