  What a location this is for outdoors people. A wonderful spot to camp here at Burr Pond State Park is Laurel Crest Campground, and dry warm beds await you at Tollgate Hill Inn. It's a popular place to go to for the inhabitants of Winsted.
After a long day outdoors Days Inn - Torrington is a glorious location to spend a night or two, and there's a forest here called Paugnut State Forest. Torrington Super 8 Motel is a good place to get some rest, and you'll meet a lot of people from Winsted here. A large amount of rain falls at Burr Pond State Park;
    all through August this area sees the most rain, and the driest month is January.
Camping at Burr Pond State Park is tremendous fun, White Pines Campground is a tremendous local campground; a spree to Cameron Point is always a nice idea. Burr Pond State Park is a fine site
for a trip when you've gotta get out. You could also pop by Camp Delaware Pond while you're here at Burr Pond State Park; it's close by, and there's always Sucker Brook Dam to pop by right next door to Burr Pond State Park.
Burr Pond State Park is not the only place close by, Goodwin Pond is a close by lake, and get wet paddling on Farmington River - Riverton. Whitewater paddling is splendid on Farmington River, and Travis Pond is a nearby lake that you could pop by. There are loads of exciting endeavors for everyone to love.

overnight stay Macedonia Brook State Park is a nice place to camp; in case you don’t mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Still River. Sandy Brook River has a tremendous whitewater paddling spot close by, and Third Bay is very near and is a brilliant site to have a look at. Life's too short to enjoy all the exciting things in the vicinity of Burr Pond State Park. A lake close by is Sucker Brook Reservoir, and a good view of wonderful Walnut Mountain is available.

You get a great panorama of Burr Mountain from Burr Pond State Park; Burr Pond State Park is a perfect site to camp, Austin Hawes Campground is a perfect site. For the period of the warm days of summer at Burr Pond State Park temperatures are generally in the 70's, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. For the period of the wintertime highs are commonly in the 20's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Burr Pond State Park temperatures fall to the 10's.
Burr Pond State Park in fact is in the middle of a gorgeous outdoors paradise. Looking for some flowing water? Try Sucker Brook, and taking a little visit to nearby Bristol Cove is a tremendous idea. Not far from Burr Pond State Park you get some splendid water scenery at Burr Pond Dam, and Wheeler Point is not far at all. Take a little visit to Taylor Brook since you're here at Burr Pond State Park, and if you're here, you could also visit beautiful Burr Pond.
