If you came for an overnight stay Dakota Campground   is a tremendous site to camp, and there's some out of the ordinary stuff to catch a glimpse of at Walsenburg Water System Dam right next door to Lathrop State Park. The beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Cottonwood Spring, and after a long day outdoors Best Western Rambler is a perfect place to spend a night or two. During the long summer days here at Lathrop State Park, high temperatures frequently get into the 80's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 50's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 40's, and overnight lows at Lathrop State Park through the wintertime typically sink into the 0's.
