Yeah, come up here to the Northern Sierra Nevada for a delightful time. Camping at Van Norden Campground is always a wonderful experience, and Basin Peak is scenic and can be seen from here. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Tahoe Donner, and if you're visiting from Soda Springs, you won't be the only one. Tahoe National Forest has picturesque nature scenery for your viewing pleasure.
There is great outdoors recreation at Tahoe National Forest, so you may have a lot of fun. Good hiking is available along the Cottonwood Overlook Trail, and you can hit the slopes at Soda Springs in close proximity. Be careful coming to the Northern Sierra Nevada, you might not ever wanna return home again. Sagehen Creek Campground is a brilliant campground nearby, and going for a hike on the Lola Montez Trail is always a great adventure.
Sugar Bowl is a very popular ski area nearby, and dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn Express TRUCKEE. Be careful coming to Tahoe National Forest, you might not ever want to return back home again. The Warren Lake Trail is a splendid hiking trail in close proximity to Tahoe National Forest, and Donner Ski Ranch has delightful slopes and a friendly staff. Tahoe National Forest sees pretty high levels of rainfall; all through the month of January you get the most rain around here, and the driest of the months is July.
