Garrapata State Park is a picturesque section of wilderness that everybody loves. This is no location for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. A brilliant site for whitewater paddling near Garrapata State Park is Little Sur River, and you can hit the beach if you want, Monastery Beach is practically right here. Summertime highs at Garrapata State Park mostly tend to be in the 70's. Summer overnight lows fall down to the 50's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 60's with temperatures at Garrapata State Park dipping down into the 30's throughout winter nights. Camping at Carmel By The River RV Park is always a great experience, and nothing beats kicking back at Carmel Beach. So much enjoyable stuff to do in the Santa Lucia Range, not enough time. From Garrapata State Park you obtain a perfect vista of Whale Peak, and Wayside Inn is a great location to get some rest. Why not spend some time golfing at a nearby golf course like Rancho Canada Golf Club; if you came for an overnight stay Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park is a nice site to camp. If you need a place to stay Carmel River Inn is a great choice; Cypress Tree Inn Of Monterey is a tremendous campground nearby. A typical amount of precipitation falls here at Garrapata State Park; January is the month that gets the most rain; August is the month with the least moisture. This place, the Santa Lucia Range, has so much outdoors exciting stuff. Garrapata State Park is a nice place to visit for more than one day, Big Sur Campgrounds and Cabins is a nice place to camp nearby; you're sure to bump into some good folks from Carmel By The Sea here.
