Santa Lucia Range, California      These mountains cover roughly 3900 square miles. The Santa Lucia Range is located in California. Of all the peaks in these mountains Junipero Serra Peak is the tallest at 5862 feet, not as high but also impressive are Pinyon Peak, Cone Peak, South Ventana Cone, and Black Butte.   This is a great mountain range. These mountains include a number of subranges including Irish Hills, La Panza Range, Mount Buchon, Santa Lucia Range, and Sierra de Salinas and they are all great. The Santa Lucia Range has several good whitewater kayaking and rafting rivers including Arroyo Seco River, Big Sur River, Carmel River, Little Sur River, Nacimiento River, and San Antonio where you can spend some time on the water. This range has lots of good hotels where it's always comfortable to stay. There are many hiking trails in the Santa Lucia Range, there's     no better way to enjoy these mountains. Campgrounds are plentyful in these mountains where you can spend the night in nature.
