    First High Reservoir is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. High temperatures at First High Reservoir through the summertime months are in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 60's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 40's with temperatures at First High Reservoir dipping down into the 20's throughout winter nights. There are pleasant sites to look at along the Rock Creek Park Bike Trail, and let's not forget Reedy Branch which  
   is a stream that you may run into while you're here. And if that's not enough, there's a lot more to do in the neighborhood of First High Reservoir. Bunker Hill is clearly visible from First High Reservoir, and there are other places here than First High Reservoir, for example Brightwood Reservoir.
First High Reservoir is a great place to visit for more than one day, Cherry Hill Park is a great place to camp nearby, and don't leave First High Reservoir without
 
               first going for a hike along the White Horse Trail. Get your heart beating on the wonderful whitewater of Anacostia River - Northwest Branch. You'll need more than a day to discover everything First High Reservoir has to offer, you can camp at Harmony Place Trailer Park. Going for a hike on the Valley Trail is always a great adventure; if you haven’t been to Fort Washington Park, you ought to schedule some time for it if you're here.
If you're a golfer then a splendid nearby course is Golf Course Register; you can always enjoy a lazy day on the beach at Bathing Beach. And if you're still looking for more outdoors amusing things just keep reading. Dry warm beds await you at Bloomingdale Inn. I often take my kids to the park at Greenbelt Lake. The playground is very big and they have a ton of fun. There are things there suitable for all kids ages. We also go around the lake, me running and them riding thier bikes. the trail and lake are beautiful and shaded - which is wonderful during the hot days in the summer....

Regular camping fees at this time (06/08) are $16/night. I have been camping at Greenbelt Park every summer for a week for the last 7 years. It was always at $14 up till last year when it went up to $16. Great Park though! Love it!...

Pohick Bay Regional Park, located on Mason Neck Pennisula is an ecologically fragile land that shelters an abundance of wildlife, including the bald eagle. Nature lovers can expect to see blue birds, osprey, heron, deer, beavers and rare sightings of river otters.
