This location, the Black Hills, has so much outdoors exciting things. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Wood Reservoir has to offer, you can camp at Mountain View Campground, and there's perfect hiking along the Simmons Trail. High temperatures at Wood Reservoir during the warm days of summer are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 50's. Highs during the wintertime are mostly in the       30's, and overnight lows at Wood Reservoir during the winter usually plunge into the 0's. If you haven’t been to Devils Tower National Monument, you should schedule some time for it while you're here, and if you need a location to stay Best Western Inn At Sundance is a brilliant choice. This lake is so wonderful. The Nilson Trail offers hiking at its best, and Best Western Devils Tower Inn is a wonderful place to get some rest. Wood Reservoir is located                  in the Black Hills. Bald Mountain is clearly visible from Wood Reservoir. Don't forget to take a tremendous little visit to Cub Creek, and since you're here, you could also visit delightful French Reservoir. If you fancy the outdoors you'll fancy it here in the Black Hills. Cook Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop by, and Wood Reservoir is a glorious site to visit for more than one day, Bear Lodge Campground is a glorious site to camp nearby. Around Wood Reservoir you don’t get a lot of rain; the month of June is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest month is February. Whohoo, so many exciting things in one place! Wood Reservoir is so good! Good hiking is available along the Rauth Trail, and a trip to Wood Reservoir wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Lost Spring. This lake is so wonderful.
