This lake is so wonderful. There's great hiking along the Oregon Trail - Lander Cutoff, and if you've had enough of Wagner Lake, Slide Lake is close by. Mount Wagner can be seen from Wagner Lake, and camping is available at Cottonwood Lake Campground. Summertime highs at Wagner Lake usually tend to be in the       70's. Summer overnight lows sink down to the 40's. During the wintertime the highs are usually in the 20's, and overnight lows in the 0's for Wagner Lake. Around Wagner Lake you don’t get a lot of rainfall; the wettest month of the year is regularly May, that's the one that rains the most; the driest of the months is July.
