    If you like lakes and you're in this part of Wyoming you can check out Van Tassel Lake. High temperatures at Van Tassel Lake through the warmest time of the year are in the 80's. Summer night lows drop down to the 40's. Daytime highs all through the wintertime are in the 30's; night lows in the 0's for Van Tassel Lake. Van Tassel Lake is a spot with many visitors from Evanston, and in case you don’t mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling  
   on Blacks Fork - West Fork. Not much rainfall falls here at Van Tassel Lake; of all the months in a year September is the one with the most rain; January is when it's the driest.
This lake is so wonderful. There is a glorious hiking trail in the neighborhood of Van Tassel Lake called the Bear River Smiths Fork Trail, and why not a little side spree to Drown Creek. All the outdoors enjoyable things close to Van Tassel Lake will keep you coming back again
 
               and again. If you came for an overnight stay Little Lyman Lake Campground is a nice site to camp; lakes are such peaceful sites, why not check out Meeks Cabin Reservoir. Comfort Inn Evanston is a glorious location to get some rest, and there are other places here than Van Tassel Lake, for example Vacher Reservoir.
This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the High Line Trail is always a tremendous adventure, and the scenery at Van Tassel Lake Dam is beautiful. If you're here, you might as well stop by Beaver Dam Hollow, and Blacks Fork - East Fork has a great whitewater paddling spot nearby.
Why not camp at Meeks Cabin Campground since you're here at Van Tassel Lake, and you can go for a hike on the Bear River Smiths Fork Trail.

Nice lake, tough hike, and windy. Fished in late July, fishing was fair, but the size of the fish were between 14-19 inches. Wind was really blowing the day I fished here....
