Camping at Dickinson Creek Campground is always a great experience; at Valentine Lake you can catch a glimpse of Cathedral Peak. Valentine Lake gets very little rain; through May this area sees the most rain while December is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking along the Lizard Head Trail is nice fun; glide down the rapids of Bull Lake Creek in a       kayak. This lake is one of the great places here in the Wind River Range. Throughout the long summer days at Valentine Lake highs are commonly in the 80's, and the nighttime is a tad chillier of course, usually in the 40's. For the duration of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's with temperatures at Valentine Lake dipping down into the 10's all through winter nights. So much enjoyable stuff to do in the Wind River Range, not enough time. If                  you need a location to stay Rodeway Inn Pronghorn Lodge is a fine choice. A good place like Ranger Park here at Valentine Lake is too good to miss, and going for a hike along the Gaylord Lake Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity. Take a hike on the Moss Lake Trail, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always check out nearby Dutch Oven Lake. This spot, the Wind River Range, has so much outdoors entertaining stuff.
