Longhorn RV & Motel is a fine local campground; dry warm beds await you at Best Western Pinedale Inn. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. A pleasant spree to Goat Flat is a nice way to spend an afternoon, and Turquoise Lake is a fine place to visit for more than one day, Circle Up Camper Court Shop is a fine place to camp nearby. You'll truly wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining stuff in the Wind River Range. Do take a look
at Bomber Lake right next door to Turquoise Lake, it's a striking lake, and there are some fine whitewater spots on Wind River.
Turquoise Lake is one of the lakes here in the Wind River Range. Don't leave Turquoise Lake without first going for a hike along the Whiskey Mountain Trail, and after a long day outdoors Super 8 Dubois is a splendid place to spend a night or two. If you have a thing about the outdoors you'll have a thing about it here in the Wind

River Range. You get a fine panorama of The Guardian from Turquoise Lake, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Turquoise Lake; Glacier Trail is a fine local trail.
At Turquoise Lake you don’t see much precipitation; of all the months in a year June is the one with the most rain, and February meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Ross Lake Trail. Throughout the warm days of summer at Turquoise Lake temperatures are typically in the 80's, and the overnight is a little chillier of course, mostly in the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Turquoise Lake dip into the 10's.
This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Turquoise Lake, you could also stop at wonderful Upper Ross Lake, and No Mans Pass is a perfect spot to stop at.

Double Lake
Fish it with royal wolfs being stipped on top of the water, big cuttthroats will slam it...

Ross Lake Trail
In four days four of us caught 13 fish over 20 inches and 27 fish overall, none of which were less than 14 inches.  Campsites are plentiful and established.  Great views of other mountain lakes beautiful sunsets and sunrises. The trail is very nice and well marked the entire way. All the climbing is worth every minute once you see the lake....Ross Lake wasn't worth the trip. Horrible fishing and rough trail. I'd recommend other destinations over Ross Lake. Lots of the forest in the area has burned and is not very scenic....

Suicide Lake
14 miles away
Had some excellent fishing for brook & cutthroat trout at Suicide Lake in August '05. The fishing was so hot I caught 2 at once....

Triangle Lake
16 miles away
This lake is almost impossible to get to. I have been within two miles of the lake and can't get to it because of the dangers that surround it. There are cliffs and the trail to the lake is a slippery waterfall....

Hay Pass Trail
19 miles away
I backpacked over Hay Pass (from Boulder Lake Trailhead to to Golden Lakes) last July 25. Easy ascent to pass except for stream crossings, trail gets faint for about 1/4 mi.above Dennis Lake (quite a view down to the lake. At the outlet of the unnamed lake (Beth Lake???) below the pass on the west side (at head of North Fk Boulder Cr.) water was high & swift, so I routed eastward around to the head of the lake crossing 2 inlet streams where they braid apart. through thick willows- a slow deal, but better than hip-deep swift water at the outlet. Great cutthroat fishing at Victor Lake (on fish to 19) during a hail storm. Guess the fish thought the hail was a swarm of bugs. Saw nobody else from Victor lk. to Golden Lks and back (3 days). Not the most spectacular scenery in the range (peaks are mostly round-topped, not like the jagged peaks to the north or south), but no people and great fishing (Golden Lakes had lots of 14 goldens but they were not biting- typical of goldens). Going in again this July, only farther this time, north of Golden Lakes. Anybody going that way?...
