Travis Lake is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. Take a hike on the Emigrant Trail, and you can stay the night at Hams Fork Campground. All our national parks are great places to explore, and Fossil Butte National Monument is no exception. This lake is so wonderful. | | Lake is a nice site to camp, Cottonwood Lake Campground is a nice site. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Travis Lake. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 40's. For the period of the wintertime highs are regularly in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Travis Lake are in the 0's. Travis Lake is pretty dehydrated ordinarily; the wettest month of the year is typically May, that's the one that rains the most, and July on the other hand is the driest.
