While you're here at Three Elk Lake you can take a hike along the Sage Basin Trail; there's some attention-grabbing stuff to catch a sight of at Divide Dam in close proximity to Three Elk Lake. Life's too short to enjoy all the fun things in the Wind River Range. Nearby lakes? Sure, Divide Lake is in close proximity to Three Elk Lake, and if                  you came for an overnight stay Scab Creek Campground is a brilliant location to camp. This lake is so wonderful. This lake is located in the wonderful Wind River Range. At Three Elk Lake you don’t see much rain; May is when you get the most rain here; February is when it's the driest. Don't forget to take a good little journey to Pipestone Creek, and Boulder Campground is a nice local campground. On a nice day at Three Elk Lake you can take a hike along the Boulder Canyon Trail, and paddling on Pole Creek is so much fun. During the days of summer at Three Elk Lake temperatures are mostly in the 70's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 40's.
