Man, is there lots of entertaining stuff to do right next door to Thayer Lake. This lake is one of the great places here in the Bighorn Mountains. So many exciting things in the Bighorn Mountains, just impressive. Near Thayer Lake you hit upon the North High Park Trail which is a splendid hiking trail, and Thayer Lake lays in the shadow of the Bighorn Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. There's whitewater on Paintrock       Creek for all you thrill seekers, and if the weather is delightful, you can go for a hike along the Cliff Lake Trail. Coffeen Park Campground is a good local campground; there are other places here than Thayer Lake, for example Devils Lake. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. Why not camp at Lake Geneva Campground since you're here at Thayer Lake, and get your heart pumping on the good whitewater of Tensleep Creek. Life's too short to enjoy all the                  fun things in the Bighorn Mountains. Gotta ski! Antelope Butte is a perfect place to do that, and dry warm beds await you at The Passage Resort at Big Horn. This lake is so wonderful. Getting to Edelman Creek from Thayer Lake is uncomplicated, and the slopes of Big Horn Ski are so inviting nobody can resist. Bighorn Mountains is clearly visible from Thayer Lake; if you need a place to stay Wingate by Wyndham Sheridan WY is a great choice. Lakes are such peaceful sites, why not visit Lake Geneva right next door to Thayer Lake, and the Edelman Trail is a good hiking trail close by. Around Thayer Lake you don’t get a lot of rainfall; the month of April is the wettest with most of the snow, and February on the other hand is the driest. Summer brings highs in the 60's to Thayer Lake with nighttime lows in the 30's.
