Texas Lake is pretty dried out mostly; the month with most of the rain is May, and December on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. If the weather is good here at Texas Lake, you can go for a hike along the Bears Ears Trail, and drift down the rapids of Bull Lake Creek in a kayak. So much cool stuff to do in the Wind River Range, not sufficient time. Do visit Papoose       Lake right next door to Texas Lake, it's a stunning lake, and Texas Lake is a tremendous place to visit for more than one day, Dickinson Creek Campground is a tremendous place to camp nearby. This lake is located in the wonderful Wind River Range. There's no way someone can get bored here in the Wind River Range. Rodeway Inn Pronghorn Lodge is a perfect spot to get some rest; going for a hike along the Lizard Head Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty                  of this region. Bair Peak is painless to spot from Texas Lake; Black Joe Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop at. Through the warm days of summer highs here at Texas Lake reach the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's; night lows during the wintertime for Texas Lake tend to be in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. A great place in close proximity to Texas Lake is Jackass Pass, and Big Sandy Campground is a great campground nearby. So much entertaining stuff to do at Texas Lake, so little time.
