What a nice lake Lake Taminah is. Lake Taminah is a place with many visitors from Jackson, and Jenny Lake Campground is a great local campground. All the outdoors enjoyable stuff in the Teton Range will keep you coming back persistently. A day on the slopes of Snow King is just what you need. That right there is a load already, but it goes on; Lake Taminah has it all. Lakes? Sure, Snowdrift Lake is nearby, and if the weather is good, you can go for a hike along the

| | Amphitheater Lake Trail. But wait, there's more entertaining things to do in the Teton Range. A good nearby hotel is Snake River Lodge And Spa, and not far from Lake Taminah you'll come across Timberline Lake which is a delightful lake. Lake Taminah is one of the lakes here in the Teton Range. At Lake Taminah you can distinguish Albright Peak, and if you come at the right time of year, Ditch Creek offers some perfect whitewater. This lake is so wonderful. | |

Why not camp at Teton Village / Jackson West KOA since you're here at Lake Taminah, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Gros Ventre River. And that's not all you can do here at Lake
Taminah. The Valley Trail is a great hiking trail close to Lake Taminah; a visit to Grand Teton National Park is recommended. Shoshoko Falls is an inspiring location to pop by during your stay, and South Fork Avalanche Canyon is undeniably
a fine site to stop by. All through the summer at Lake Taminah temperatures are regularly in the 70's with night lows in the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's, and night lows in the 0's for Lake Taminah.
This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Lake Taminah without first checking out Middle Teton Glacier; obviously South Fork is a pretty stream that is worth stopping at. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Teton Range. After a long
day outdoors Alpenhof Lodge is a good site to spend a night or two; the snow is splendid at Jackson Hole. Lake Taminah is mostly a reasonably dry place; May is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month of the year is August.

Lake Solitude Trail
July 18, 2008 Just got back from a hike to the lake yesterday. Always incredibly beautiful at any time of year (when the trail is open) A lot of flowers blooming earlier than usual because of the copious amount of melt. A bull moose, sow and calf near the trail just past the fork. The last half mile is covered in snow so that can slow you down a little. The lake is still almost completely iced over. Saw two 13'' fish (trout?) in the small, open area of the lake. Marmots snuck around our lunch spot hoping for a hand-out (don't feed anything). One of the most beautiful hikes around. If you think you're a strong hiker but haven't done many hikes or aren't used to the altitude, bring enough water for about a seven hour hike. Stronger hikers can make it in about 5 1/2 hours & seasoned hikers less--but count on a bottle of water (and Gatoraid) every hour....
Jackson Hole
What a drop compared to what I'm used to back home on the east coast, just goes on and on. I'll definetily be going back to Jackson Hole this year too, it's great....
Jenny Lake Campground
We love Jenny Lake and want to camp their with our family and friends...4 kids, 4 adults. I am worried about not having reservations....is that a problem?...Jenny Lake Campground was awesome. The view was amazing. It was quite and secluded, the camp store is just a short walk from the camping sites. The lake is beautiful and quiet, no boats zipping around. We stayed at site #50, other sites that I would recommend are 45,46 and 47. These sites have the best view. The best thing was the FLUSH toilets. If you want a vacation away form all of the touristy things you should definitly stay at Jenny Lake. If you get there in the afternoon grab a site. You can always move the next day. It seemed like a lot of people only stayed 1 night....
Gros Ventre Campground
10 miles away Gros Ventre (pronunced GROW-VONT)Campground in Grand Teton National Park is not to be missed. Moose viewing is spectacular, as well as hearing wolves, coytoes, and the sounds the Bison make walking through the campground. Depending on your campsite, try to be close the the Gros Ventre River for Moose viewing, or try to go towards the town of Kelly, for the most magnificent views of the Teton Range....
