     Swamp Lake is always a pleasure to visit. A normal amount of rain falls here at Swamp Lake; most of the rain falls through June; October is the month with the least moisture. During the warmest time of the year here at Swamp Lake, high temperatures mostly reach the 70's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 30's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's, and overnight lows in the 0's for Swamp Lake. Swamp Lake is  
   one of the lakes here in the Absaroka Range.
This lake is so wonderful. Cathedral Cliffs is an out of the ordinary location to take a look at while at Swamp Lake, and the Lewis and Clark Trail is a great hiking trail close by. Why not camp at Hunter Peak Campground since you're here at Swamp Lake; get yourself into a kayak and hit Crandall Creek. So much amusing stuff to do at Swamp Lake, so little time. Beartooth Creek is a scenic stream that is worth
 
               going to, and nearby you locate the Lodgepole Trail which is a great hiking trail.
All the outdoors exciting things in the Absaroka Range will keep you coming back over and over. Get dripping wet paddling on Clarks Fork Yellowstone River. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Absaroka Range. While staying at Swamp Lake you could always look at Oliver Gulch, and if the weather is great, you can go for a hike along the Reef Creek Trail. The skiing at Red Lodge Mountain is nice, and a perfect site to camp here at Swamp Lake is Reef Creek Campground.
